€0.005 per read
Excluding VAT. Consumers pay about €0.006 including 21% Dutch VAT. This is the planned launch price: Tickmarks is in preview: extraction is live, but billing isn't yet.
A read is one pass of Hydra Extract over up to 4,096 tokens of your schema plus document. Most invoices take one read.
- Prepaid credit: top up €10, €15, €50 or €100 (2,000 reads for €10)
- Every new account starts with €0.05 of free credit (10 reads)
- No contract
- No minimum
- No yearly document cap
- No sales call
How a document's reads add up
- A longer document is split into chunks, and each chunk is a read. The schema travels with every chunk, so a leaner schema leaves more room per read.
- Windows overlap by 256 tokens, and the overlap counts toward reads. With a schema of about 500 tokens, the first read holds about 3,600 tokens of document, and each further read adds about 3,300 new ones.
- Fallback is off by default. If you turn it on, each fallback call is an extra read, reported separately.
| Document | Reads | Cost excl. VAT |
|---|---|---|
| 1-page invoice | 1 read | €0.005 |
| 12-page lease | about 3 reads | about €0.015 |
| 40-page contract | about 9 reads | about €0.045 |
These are typical figures, not guaranteed ones. The count depends on how much text a document holds and how large your schema is.
Questions
What counts as a read?
One pass of Hydra Extract over up to 4,096 tokens, holding your schema and a chunk of the document. A short document is one read. A longer one is split into chunks, one read each, and every fallback call you turn on is one more.
Can I send scans and PDFs?
Tickmarks reads text. Extract the text from a PDF with selectable text using a tool such as
pdftotext. A scan or a photo needs OCR first. Built-in OCR is planned.
Scans, photos and PDFs explains how.
Is there a free tier?
Every new account gets €0.05 of free credit, which is 10 reads. Beyond that, reads are paid from prepaid credit. Billing isn't live yet, and the price above is the one we plan to launch with.
Is VAT included?
Prices are shown excluding VAT. Consumers pay VAT on top: at the Dutch rate of 21%, a read costs about €0.006 and a €10 top-up costs €12.10.
